SOURCING RESPONSIBLY
Most of the raw materials used to make and protect Vanessa Campomanes products come from nature, whether they are derived from animal, plant, or mineral sources. Since these raw materials are not all renewable, we are committed to supply chains that have a regenerative impact on biodiversity. Our priorities are therefore to preserve resources and the climate, respect animal welfare, avoid deforestation, eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals, and reduce air and water pollution.
SUSTAINABLE RAW MATERIALS
Leather
Due to our Chrome/ Veg Re-tannage process and new technologies, 70% of our leathers are working towards becoming Leather Working Group-certified (LWG), which is the highest environmental standard in terms of leather tanning.
Along with our suppliers, we are constantly researching innovative tanning methods, and exploring practices for a water-free process for some of our leather goods collections. As of 2022, 50% of our materials are engaged in a certification process under the strictest of standards to meet our sourcing requirements.
Wood
80% of our Acacia and bamboo products grown in forests, comes from sustainably managed forests under the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). This means the source comes from certified mills and farms.
70% of other wood products are renewable and FSC certified, and the remaining 30% are local craftsmen farmers, who have been skilled woodworkers for generations in their shires.
RESPONSIBLE PACKING
Vanessa Campomanes current packaging is 97% recyclable, which besides protecting your precious goods to deliver them safely and sound is responsible for developing sustainable packaging throughout our entire value chain through four main actions: reducing the volume of materials used, prioritizing recycled and recyclable materials, reducing, or eliminating the use of plastic where and when possible, and avoid the use of Styrofoam or Plastic/Bubble Wrap.
Olefin
Vanessa Campomanes uses Olefin for our goods storage dust bags because it is in fact a greener fabric than cotton, wool, silk, or rayon. Olefin uses no water or land during its production and was once a waste material from oil production, making it one of the greenest textiles with the lowest carbon footprint.
COMMITTED VALUE CHAIN
Commitment is an important component for successful durable business relations for Vanessa Campomanes. We believe that the current relationship with our partners has so much importance that it deserves the optimum level of effort to sustain it; that is, the party who has made the commitment believes in the enduring relationship for the committed party believes the relationship endures for the foreseeable future. This defines the ethical, environmental, and social principles for both Vanessa Campomanes and its suppliers.
Labor sourcing commitment
Vanessa Campomanes preferably sources talented handicrafts women and senior woodworkers, from communities near our workshops, looking forward to empowering them, exploiting their talent, and supporting them to be self-reliant and successful without living in their hometowns looking for better work opportunities
